Hypholoma udum (Pers. ex Fr.) Kühn. Syn. Naemateloma udum (Fr.) Kar. Moor-Schwefelkopf Peat Brownie. Cap 1–2cm across, convex to bell-shaped becoming expanded, dull ochre flushed tan towards the centre, drying paler ochre, slightly viscid. Stem 30–100 x 2–3mm, pale yellowish at apex, becoming dark reddish-brown in stem. Smell mushroomy. Gills pale olivaceous at first, later dark brown. Cheilocystidia thin-walled, hyaline, hair-like. Pleurocystidia clavate with beak-like apex. Spore print dark brown. Spores elliptic to fusiform, slightly ornamented, 13–15 x 6–6.5um. Habitat in peaty, boggy ground. Season autumn. Uncommon. Not edible. Distribution, America and Europe.
